In case you’re wondering about what ever happened to Shop JIAMODA, here’s the story behind it and why I closed it down.
First of all, Hello, I’m Jia. If you haven’t guessed already, I run the brand JIAMODA. I didn’t want to just leave everyone hanging so I decided it’d be best to share what happened. Don’t worry it’s not a sob story.
If you were able to see and support Shop JIAMODA, thank you. It took a lot of time and effort putting everything together. From the modeling, the photography, the graphic designing, the manufacturing, down to the little details that makes up Jiamoda, it was all me deciding to put my passion, skills and hobbies altogether.
I started working on the store back in May 2018 and released it in August of the same year.
I wanted to start something that was more than just a clothing store but a brand that supports uniqueness and individuality. With the influence of social media right now, I’ve seen a lot of girls looking up to the wrong people and wanting to be in the wrong crowd. At some point, I WAS one of those girls. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t.
In the process of building the brand, I was able to put together a team of amazing girls who helped spread the brand and for what it believed in.
Thankfully there’s no drama involved. Everything was going smoothly with the store, the demand kept growing and every day for me was spent trying to make improvements up until I had to move to a different country. Given this opportunity, I had the chance to step away from everything, take a break for awhile and just travel.
With all the experiences that comes with being in a new country, I also started to learn about myself. I realized I’m someone who loves learning new things, someone who embraces change, traveling and becoming a better version of myself to say the least. I wanted to know who I am and embody what The Jiamoda stands for before I go any further with the brand.
So, what now?
This doesn’t mean it’s over for The Jiamoda. It’s who I am and it’s not going anywhere.
I’m simply shifting my focus away from materialistic things like clothes and shoes because I realized it goes against what The Jiamoda stands for. Don’t get me wrong, I will always have a passion for it. I just wanted to focus on things that matter more and I wanted to start from the inside.
You can have thousands worth of clothes, shoes, and make-up but at the end of the day it’s all up to how YOU wear it and how you carry yourself.
For now, The JIAMODA will remain as a blog focused on fashion, traveling and wellness.
If you’ve read this far, Thank You. It was hard putting all of these together but I figured it’s a way for me to know who really will have my back no matter what.
Again, Thank YOU for supporting The JIAMODA.
